This plays once a year and late at night, I like to catch it every year and bought it in case I miss it when it airs.
I set my DVR search to find this particular version of "A Chrismas Carol" on Thanksgiving afternoon. It's my partner's favorite, and Christmas just wouldn't be complete without it, even though we've watched it almost each year for 15 years.
I found the George C. Scott version, the Kelsey Grammar musical version, and the 1934 British version, but not this one. Finally, a few days before Christmas, I gave up and ordered it.
We sat down and watched it on Christmas Eve Eve. It was better than ever, because of the enhancements made to the film. But it is the story itself that is so great, and Alastair Sim's portrayal of Scrooge is the best.
We look forward to watching this movie every year for another 15 years--and more!
I love the remastered black and white version. I enjoyed the colorized version too but think the black and white is best as a classic. Out of all the makes/remakes of A Christmas Carol, this is the best with Alastair Sim
