Not only does the recreation of their mother fail, but in the process, Edward loses his arm and leg and Alphonse loses his entire body. Quick thinking Edward bonds his brother's soul to a suit of armor and with the help of his godmother, Pinako, receives metal auto-mail prosthetics for his lost limbs.
