Based on the computer-animated film starring the voices of Ray Romano, Dennis Leary, and John Leguizamo, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is a 3D platform game that closely follows the movie's story line. Players will guide animal characters Manny, Sid, Diego, and the rambunctious Scrat in an adventure that involves saving each species from the melting glaciers in their arctic home. The goal in each of the game's six levels is to safely reach the end while steering clear of hazards and confronting enemies such as wild boars, polar bears, beavers, and more. Throughout each level are a substantial number of acorns to collect, which unlocks bonus content such as interviews with the film's stars. The majority of the game involves playing as Scrat, who can double jump, tail whip, and throw pebbles to avoid or stun enemies. The other characters star in their own mini-games, such as Sid's "Slippery Sloth Side Challenge," which has the obnoxious critter sliding on his belly down a slalom-like course made entirely of ice. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
