Van looks like the classic cowboy loner: tall and lanky with his hat pulled down low and a serious expression on his face. He's anything but average, however, and neither is the hankerchief he keeps by his side - which turns into a sword. It turns out that Van is a man on a mission, searching for the mysterious clawed man who killed is bride. On his journey through the dessert, he is joined by a young girl named Wendy, whose town he saves from bandits with the use of his sword - though this time, it summons a mecha to do the dirty work.
